05.02.2024
The digital forum Digital Almaty 2024 has concluded in Almaty. Bagdat Musin, the head of the Ministry of Digital Development, summarized the forum’s results, noting that Kazakhstan ranks 8th in the world for online services. In 2023, 50 million services were provided online, and 92% of services are available to citizens without leaving their homes.
“We have built a massive electronic government ecosystem, which now includes not only state portals but also banking apps and, increasingly, other services and startups. As a leading GovTech player, we see it as our responsibility to share our expertise and even ready-made products,” Bagdat Musin said.
The Digital Almaty 2024 forum attracted over 30,000 attendees and included 29 panel sessions with about 300 speakers, 70 of whom were international experts.
On the final day of the Forum, the largest Industry 4.0 Startup Battle took place with a total prize fund of $180,000. Thirty industrial startups competed for awards provided by the Battle’s partners.
The forum concluded with the annual Digital Almaty Awards. The awards featured seven key categories, including the oil industry, mining, industrial innovations, women’s leadership in the industry, IT leadership, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) responsibility, and blockchain technologies.
The best projects were selected by a jury of professionals, including representatives of government bodies, venture investors, trackers, and subsoil users from companies such as KazPetrol, Kusto Group, KazMinerals, and Karachaganak Petroleum.
